Yaacov Agam's gallery

Artist plastic Israeli born in Rishon Lezion (Israel) in 1928, he is established in France since 1950, the figure of Kinetic Art. Agam's work is characterized by a movement induced by the random moving from viewer's point of view. Unlike artists kinetic's works whose the movement is generated, most often by viewer's moving, those Agam get their effect by mobile elements of the work. The artist wants to give to public a new role and introduce in his work, the notion of unpredictability that characterized, to his mind, the fourth dimension. His paintings are frequently built from triangular prism with one face is fixed on the plane area of the canvas, and the two others are painted with geometric patterns that produce different visual effects according to the angle at which theses elements are seen.
