Andy Warhol (whose real name Andrew Warhola) was born the August 6th 1928 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and died in New York the February 22th 1987 is an American artist, the central figure of pop art, which is one of the pioneers. Warhol is known worldwide for his work as painter, record producer, author, through his underground films, and its links with intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities and wealthy aristocrats. While Warhol's work remains controversial, it has been the subject of numerous exhibitions, books, and films since his death. Warhol is in general recognized as one of the most famous artists of the twentieth century.
